Swansea will pile more misery on Newcastle, predicts Sky Sports pundit

Paul Merson is predicting a 2-1 win for Garry Monk's Swansea side.

Swansea City will continue to pile the pressure on Newcastle United this weekend, predicts Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson.

The former Arsenal midfielder feels that, despite the Swans not scoring in their last two games, they will have too much for Alan Pardew's men.

The Magpies currently sit in 19th place in the Premier League, winless in six league matches.

Garry Monk's side, by contrast, have started the season very impressively - and Merson can't look beyond them for tomorrow's game.

"I’ve watched Swansea’s last two games and they haven’t scored in either of them but I still expect them to win this," he wrote in his weekly Sky Sports predictions column.

"Newcastle need a little bit of luck because every game is a big game when you’re struggling and in this league the matches come flying along.

"The problem for Alan Pardew is that there’s an international break after this match and you don’t want to lose going into that. I remember at the end of my career when I wasn’t going away with England and it’s a long, long two weeks when you don’t win. It’s horrible."

Newcastle visit the Liberty Stadium tomorrow at 3pm, on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Stoke City last Monday.
