Fiorentina thoroughly dominated their Europa League clash with Dinamo Minsk, running out 3-0 winners, but it wasn't all smiles as Micah Richards faces an injury lay-off.
Manchester City's longest serving player, Richards made the bold decision to sign for Fiorentina on a season loan during the summer.
The talented defender has seemed to be settling in well and started in Belarus as Fiorentina moved three points clear at the top of Europa League Group K.
One of the goals was scored by former Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani, who has been in a contract wrangle with Fiorentina.
But Richards was forced off after 41 minutes with a thigh problem that is yet to be diagnosed and he faces tests later today to ascertain the extent of the problem.
"Unfortunately, Richards needs to be evaluated, as he had a muscular problem that he’s suffered from in the past," he said in a post-match interview.
Manchester City and Fiorentina fans alike will be keeping their fingers crossed that the problem isn't serious. The initial estimate is that he'll only be out for action for around three weeks.
