Liverpool will take on West Bromwich Albion at Anfield on Saturday, and one former Reds star who is looking forward to the Premier League clash is Michael Owen.
‘It will be interesting to see if Daniel Sturridge returns for the Reds given he has not made Roy Hodgson’s squad for the forthcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers’, the former Liverpool striker wrote on Betvictor.com.
‘Liverpool have certainly missed the striker and the Baggies have a decent recent record against the Reds losing just one of the last five games played between the sides’.
Brendan Rodgers’s Liverpool have indeed missed Daniel Sturridge over the last few weeks.
The 25-year-old striker suffered a thigh injury while on international duty for England last month. In his absence, the Reds have struggled in the Premier League and the Champions League.
Sturridge is likely to feature for Liverpool against West Brom, and his return will be hugely welcomed by the club’s fans.
With Mario Balotelli misfiring and Rickie Lambert not really looking the part yet, Sturridge’s comeback is very much needed for Liverpool to score goals.
