She bought poison after mother banned her from marrying a man she met on the internet.

Kuntal Patel, 37, showed no emotion as the jury cleared her of attempting to murder 'controlling and selfish' mother Meena Patel.

The Daily Express reports that Patel, who was contracting at Barclays Bank as a graphic designer, faces a jail sentence for buying the deadly toxin abrin from the 'dark web'.

She was convicted of acquiring a biological agent or toxin and had admitted two counts of attempting to acquire one.

Southwark Crown Court, central London, was told the shy, former private schoolgirl, had suffered years of abuse from her mother.

Patel, a volunteer in the 2012 London Olympics, bought the poison after Mrs Patel banned her from marrying a man she met on the internet.
