Agent of Liverpool target: He could leave, but he’s happy

The agent of Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik has said that his client can command a move when he wants, but insists he is happy where he is.

Marek Hamsik's agent gave a very cagey response when asked about the future of the Napoli midfielder, who is being linked with Liverpool.

The Slovakian star has been an asset for Napoli since 2007 and has made nearly 250 appearances, acting as the team's creative hub.

Hamsik was reportedly on Manchester United's radar at the start of the summer but of late there have been suggestions that he could be the man to turn Liverpool's season around.

The valuation widely quoted for Hamsik's services is £33 million, but the player has, as yet, shown little sign of wanting to leave a club he is very popular at.

"Marek could be sold when he wants," agent Juraj Venglos said on Sky Italia.

"But as long as he is happy at Napoli we won't consider anything.

"At the moment he is happy at Napoli. If he should decide to move then that changes the discussion."

It would be interesting to see how settled Hamsik feels if Liverpool did table a mammoth bid in the January transfer window.
