One person on the wrong end of the revolving door at Old Trafford this summer was Japan international Shinji Kagawa. The attacking midfielder joined the club from Borussia Dortmund in 2012 but never truly settled into life at the club.
He was often played out of position on the left-hand side of midfield and with the arrival of Louis van Gaal this summer Kagawa was allowed to move on. He returned to Dortmund in a £6.3 million deal this summer - almost a £10 million loss on the player.
But since his return to Dortmund the Japanese international has been in superb form. He scored on his debut back at the club, a moment which gave him 'goosebumps' and last night he was showing United fans just what he has in his locker once again.
On a night when £16 million former United player Danny Welbeck scored a hat-trick for new club Arsenal Kagawa was also making waves, with a sublime assist against Anderlecht.
He raced forward in his favourite position, the pocket just behind the striker, before playing a ball Paul Scholes would be proud of to find Ciro Immobile - who finished with ease.
Kagawa simply never fitted in at United - selling him was not necessarily a bad idea this summer. Dortmund however is his home and he is making it sweet again with moments like this.
