A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is expecting a tough test against Turkish side Besiktas.
Spurs take on the Turks in the Europa League this evening, looking for another three points that will improve their group position.
“They are unbeaten in the league in Turkey, and Arsenal suffered a lot to go to the next round in the Champions League. We have analysed Besiktas and they are a very tough team,” said Pochettino.
Former Chelsea striker Demba Ba has taken a dig at Tottenham Hotspur fans.
Ba, now playing for Besiktas, is opening himself up for criticism ahead of the Europa League clash between the teams this evening.
“I played against Tottenham with Chelsea and West Ham. I’m positive that our fans will be noisier than their fans,” he said via the club’s Twitter account.
Pochettino has defended under pressure striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
The forward has been heavily criticised following his performance against Arsenal in the North London derby last weekend.
“I believe in Emmanuel Adebayor. We know always a striker maybe during some periods finds it difficult to score, but he made a lot of effort for the team. The more important thing is that we are convinced that he or another team-mate can score,” said the boss.
