Chelsea hotshot Diego Costa has given the news that no Arsenal fan wanted to hear before their big game on Sunday, commenting: ‘’I am certain I will play against Arsenal.’’
The former Atletico Madrid man has been in excellent form since his move to Stamford Bridge, particularly in the Premier League, and has managed to score more goals than games he has played in. A phenomenal achievement for anyone, but when you consider he has just joined this summer it’s arguably even better.
Costa played the full 90 minutes as Chelsea ran out victorious against Mourinho’s old club Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday, but confirmed he was still not able to train every day due to a hamstring problem.
‘’There are a few niggles that are annoying me,’’ said Costa.
‘’There are days when I do not train so I can prevent problems, but there are other days when I can train."
‘’I am certain I will play against Arsenal.’’
Arsenal, who sit fourth in the Premier League table, will be in high spirits when they travel to Chelsea on Sunday after emphatically beating Galatasary impressively four goals to one.
Danny Welbeck scored a first career hat-trick and summer signing Alexis Sanchez got the other as Arsene Wenger’s men dominantly dismantled a strong Galatasaray side that contained the likes of Felipe Melo and Wesley Sneijder.
Nevertheless, despite the hysteria over their Champions League win, the North London side will no doubt now be fully focused on the task at hand and will look to condemn Chelsea to their first defeat of the season, with or without Costa.
