Tottenham play their second Europa League game of Group C, and their first at home.
Spurs will be eager to claim maximum points in Thursday's Europa League game with Besiktas at White Hart Lane, and two of the team's stars had plenty to say before Mauricio Pochettino leads his team out in North London.
So far the Tottenham boss has been more than willing to rotate his squad from a league eleven to a cup eleven, so those that didn't start in the 1-1 draw with Arsenal at the weekend are more than likely to make an appearance if the former Saints boss decides to continue tinkering with his teams.
Both Soldado and Dier could be set to come into Pochettino's side for the game against the Turish giants, with the Spaniard having 2 goals to his name so far this season and Dier finding himself out of the starting lineup against Arsenal.
“This game is really important for us because it’s at home and always when we play at White Hart Lane we need to win,” said ex-Valencia hotshot Soldado.
“We know that Besiktas are a big team and they showed their qualities against Arsenal while playing for a place in the Champions League.
“Now we play them at home and we need a win after we drew 0-0 in Partizan. We want to qualify in first position in the group, so we need to win this game to get the three points.”
Young English defender Dier, an impressive buy since arriving from Sporting Lisbon in the summer, urged caution ahead of the game, with the Turkish side impressive in their narrow Champions League qualifying loss to Arsenal.
"I’m sure it will be another really hard game,” the 20-year-old said.
“There are never any easy games in football, both in European or domestic competitions, and that’s certainly true when thinking about Thursday’s game.
“Obviously they’re a big club but we’re strong at home, so hopefully they’ll come to play and it will be a good game.
“Hopefully the fans will support us as loudly as usual and I hope in turn we will give them a good result.”
