Sheffield Wednesday fans have had a mixed opinion of the performance that Atdhe Nuhiu put in during their match against Ipswich Town last night.
Although the rangy striker scored their only goal of the game, in a 1-1 draw, many feel that the target-man centre-forward is still short of the quality required to represent them up-front.
Nuhiu headed home the first goal of the match before Jonjo Williams equalised for Ipswich, but many were still throughly unimpressed by the Austrian striker.
Although the 25-year-old remains a presence up-front he can often lack energy and, unless the right quality service is provided, he can look clumsy.
At the start of the season Stuart Gray actually described Nuhiu as unplayable, but it appears those words may have been hyperbolic.
That said, his goalscoring record so far has still been encouraging and if he keeps his current ratio up he looks set to finish the season with a respectable number of strikes.
Nuhiu has scored 5 times in his opening 13 appearances so far this campaign and it because of this that Gray has been loathed to drop him.
The Owls are currently in ninth place in the Championship table, but they will be aiming to push on up the league and many supporters of the club feel they would be better placed to do this if Nuhiu was left on the bench.
Here is the best reaction on Twitter to Nuhiu's performance last night.
Not only does putting May wide make him pointless, but it makes Nuhiu pointless cus he can't play the lone striker.— Benjy (@owlsfan83) September 30, 2014
Didn't have pace and quality up front to open up itfc. Nuhiu being in Berra's pocket didn't help. 16 pts from 10 games is decent tho #swfc— steve walmsley (@earlydoorsowl) September 30, 2014
Is it really that hard to see that Nuhiu can't play up top on his own?— 2P1S (@jack_roper1) September 30, 2014
Thought Nuhiu was much better tonight, chased after everything and never stopped running..... Same goes for Maguire! #swfc— George (@Georgeswfcsmith) September 30, 2014
Still crying out for another option up front, Nuhiu worked hard and was tired last 20 mins! And May ended up on the wing!! Strange! #swfc— Jonathan Morgan (@Jonny_swfc) October 1, 2014
May out wide ! Lumping it to Nuhiu with 3 men on him second half tactics cost us the game I'm afraid #swfc— Work and Leisure (@_WorkandLeisure) October 1, 2014
