Diafra Sakho has started life in the Premier League with a bang, netting three goals in his opening four games.
The striker hit 20 goals for Metz in Ligue 2 last season, with West Ham winning the race for his signature.
A club potentially looking at his early form with regret, could be Newcastle United, who sit in 19th place, without a win in six games.
Newcastle were linked with signing him over the summer, but denied they held an interest.
SkySports reported in May: "Newcastle have told Sky Sports News that they are not interested in signing Metz striker Diafra Sakho.
"The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to St James’ Park but the club deny they are poised to complete a deal."
Newcastle signed Monaco's Emmanuel Riviere for a similar price instead, but he is yet to break his duck in the Premier League.

Sakho has proved more lethal, netting three goals from the same number of scoring attempts as Riviere has managed.
Newcastle's scouting in France has been generally very good over recent seasons, but they have not all come off, see Sylvain Marveaux for example or Romain Amalfitano.
If the trajectory of the two players continues and Newcastle's form improves, deciding not to move for Sakho could prove to be a decisive error.
