Real Madrid hopeful over Arsenal target Sami Khedira
Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira's future remains uncertain, but the club are confident they have not lost him yet.
Khedira's contract expires next June, and the German international has so far snubbed the club's advances over a new contract.
The World Cup winner has been linked with deals to sign for Arsenal, and Bayern Munich, but is not giving anything away.
Arsenal have again been strongly linked with a deal for the defensive midfielder over the past week, with Khedira able to sign a pre-contract agreement from January 1.
Spanish newspaper Marca states this has not happened yet.
"The Real Madrid board are convinced that he has not yet signed anything with Arsenal or any other club and he will not do so without telling them first."
They do however reveal that Khedira's agent has not discussed his client's future with the club since the summer, and the chances of him renewing remains unknown.
Khedira is currently out injured, having picked up a problem on international duty but is expected back shortly.
It is likely he is awaiting to see his role upon returning before committing to Real for future seasons, and for now is at least keeping his options open.
