Former Manchester United defender questioned Manchester City's support.
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand hit out at Manchester City last night, during their 1-1 draw with Roma.
The QPR centre-back homed in on the empty seats at the Etihad Stadium, using his Twitter feed to take a pop at his former rivals.
How many empty seats are there at the city vs Roma game by the way....big CL game & fans would rather Ramsays Kitchen or something at home— Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) September 30, 2014
Expanding the stadium for what though?? For who though???— Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) September 30, 2014
The official attendance at the stadium was 46,000, although visually, empty sections made it seem as though it could be lower.
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini did not cite the crowd as a reason for the draw, stating after the game:
"If there is a great atmosphere it's always better for the team. But I don't think that was important."
