QPR give green light to January Taarabt exit - report

Adel Taarabt

Queens Park Rangers are said to want to let the £65,000-a-week star go.

QPR are ready to let Adel Taarabt leave west London in January, according to the Daily Mirror.

The newspaper claim that the the club have given the green light to a potential winter exit, with AC Milan, who took the Moroccan on loan last season, said to be interested in re-signing Taarabt.

The 25-year-old has played just one minute of Premier League football this season and QPR are now said to have given up hope of turning him into a first-team regular.

Taarabt’s agent Vincenzo Morabito has reportedly said: “Adel can move in January. It’s too soon to say where - but Italy is an option.”

QPR fans have, in the past, expressed their surprise at Harry Redknapp's infrequent use of the Moroccan, such as after the 4-0 defeat at Manchester United.

But Taarabt has suffered from fitness issues lately, with Redknapp telling reporters that the forward needs to lose weight, while a key reason for a departure could be his hefty wages.

Indeed, Taarabt is reportedly earning £65,000 a week at the Rs, which proved a stumbling block to a summer move away from Loftus Road. Should Milan look past that, however, the 25-year-old could be on his way out of west London for good.
