Here's how Arsene Wenger and his bench reacted as Wojciech Szczesny was sent off against Galatasaray.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger appeared furious as goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny was sent off against Galatasaray.
The photo above, captured seconds after, illustrates Wenger's frustration - and the shock of assistant manager Steve Bould.
It was the second red card Szczesny has received in the Champions League in 2014, and he now faces a ban for the next game against Anderlecht.
The Pole was sent off in the last 16 game at The Emirates against Bayern Munich in February, and also has a red card to his name for his country in the opening game of Euro 2012.
On this occasion he could have little complaint, misjudging the movement of the opposition attacker and conceding a penalty.
Wenger hinted after the game however his frustration was with the circumstances, but not with Szczesny.
"It's difficult for him, its a fraction of a second and he gives away a penalty. These kind of things can happen."
The good news for Arsenal is David Ospina appeared a more than able deputy, and when the Colombian signed in the summer, there were suggestions the World Cup star may even be a better goalkeeper.
This could be the chance he has been waiting for, and Szczesny did his case no favours last night.
