The 18-year-old has tweeted amid his anxiety to return to fitness.
Newcastle United currently find themselves in a strange situation.
It's not that they aren't playing badly - they are. But there are several positives from their season already, namely their young players.
Cruelly, though, their brightest spark at the start of the campaign - Rolando Aarons - has been ruled out with a lengthy injury, while a similar fate befell summer signing Siem de Jong.
And 18-year-old Aarons simply 'can't wait' to return to fitness. Alan Pardew's side currently sit 19th in the Premier League table and are dearly missing the kind of spark Aarons can provide in the final third.
The Magpies star tweeted as much earlier today - and is clearly frustrated with his time on the sidelines.
Can't wait to get back out there http://t.co/4suMMDIKca— Rolando Aarons (@R_Aarons16) October 1, 2014
Accompanying his tweet, he posted a video from his Instagram account of his goal and some promising skills for the England Under-20 side.
Aarons is clearly a talent and Newcastle will no doubt want him back as soon as they can have him.
What a partnership he could strike up, meanwhile, with 17-year-old Adam Armstrong, another shining light in a dark time at St James' Park.
In case Magpies fans aren't missing the teenager's on-field presence enough already, here's the video he posted. Enjoy...
