Leeds striker Mirco Antenucci is way behind Reading forward Glenn Murray in a key area.
Mirco Antenucci against Glenn Murray is going to be one of the key head-to-heads this evening as Reading travel to Elland Road looking to a win.
Leeds suffered defeat in their first game under Darko Milanic and the stats suggest that Antenucci needs to improve in a number of areas to start firing the side up the table towards the play-off places.
While this won’t be a direct battle between the players, they each play a key part in the attack of their teams.
Murray has the edge in terms of goals and attempts despite having played a significantly lower amount in the Championship this season.
He also appears to be the stronger of the two forwards as fewer defenders have managed to muscle him off of the ball during key games since he went to Reading on loan from Crystal Palace.
Where Antenucci is ahead is in terms of dribbles. He’s been more successful than Murray when he’s dropped off to pick up possession before turning and putting the opposition defence onto the back foot.
However, the standout area where Leeds’ star must improve is the number of times he’s being dispossessed.
If Antenucci can keep hold of possession more effectively, Leeds have a better chance of building pressure over Reading, but Murray is in decent form and could only need one chance to decide the game.
