Milanic reveals details on meeting with Cellino and what Leeds must do better

We bring you the details from Darko Milanic's press conference earlier today.

Leeds United manager Darko Milanic says that he had a meeting with Massimo Cellino after the Brentford defeat last weekend.

The Whites' new boss says that he and Cellino had a constructive discussion after the loss in his first game.

Leeds went down 2-0 to the Bees in what was a disappointing start to his reign in charge at Elland Road, but Milanic insists that he doesn't feel under pressure.

"I talked to him [Cellino] after the match," he said in a press conference today. "I had a meeting with him. Like I said before the game in Brentford, he knows football, he accepts things, he's very intelligent and we had a very constructive meeting.

"I don't feel under pressure. I want to make it better tomorrow [against Reading] and win, but it won't be easy. I want to see another face of the team."

Milanic takes control of the side at home for the first time against Reading tomorrow, and there will be much anticipation to see how the side have developed after becoming more acclimatised to his management style.

The Slovenian has taken over from Neil Redfearn, who guided the club to 10 points out of 12 in his time as caretaker-manager, so there is a weight of expectation on his shoulders.

However, Milanic insists that Cellino, who is famously reactionary, wants to give him time to impress - although he admits that the results will have to come sooner rather than later.

"He said to me when we met for the first time that he wants to give me time to improve the squad - this is my job," he said. "But also if I don't win the games, it's normal for the coach... I'm prepared."

Because of the form that the side were in under Redfearn it was thought that the new manager would not need to make too many changes, but Milanic has expressed a desire to increase the tempo that Leeds play at.

"The first thing we have to do better is to bring a lot of energy tomorrow," he said. "We are on the ground like a team, we think like a team. I know that the team is very good, quick and dynamic and we have to play with a lot of tempo tomorrow.

Milanic confirmed that Zan Benedicic and Noel Hunt would not be part of the squad for tomorrow's fixture.
