A round up of news stories about Liverpool this morning.
The agent of Marseille forward Andre-Pierre Gignac has said it wouldn’t be a problem for his client to play at Liverpool.
However, whether the Reds will make a move for the Frenchman is doubtful as they signed Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli over the summer.
“He can play in England, Arsenal or Liverpool, no problem. For me, it is between €12 million and €15 million,” Christopher Hutteau told L’Equipe.
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher says Belgian star Simon Mignolet could have been the difference for the club last season.
Carragher suggests that Mignolet could have done better in tight situations, which would have secured the Reds more points.
“Everyone always talks about Steven Gerrard slipping and costing Liverpool the league - You’re looking at your keeper and thinking: ‘Come on, win us the league. Make that save,” said Carragher.
Brendan Rodgers has praised Steven Gerrard for his performance in the Merseyside derby.
Gerrard scored a peach of a free kick in the 1-1 draw against Everton last weekend.
“He is still a highly influential player and, as you saw with the free kick, he has got great quality,” Rodgers told the Liverpool website.
