Eden Hazard has experienced two Champions League seasons at Stamford Bridge, failing to progress through the group stage in his first year, before reaching the last-four of the competition last season - being knocked out by the Atletico Madrid of Diego Costa, Filipe Luis and Thibaut Courtois.
Winning the Champions League was the main reason Chelsea secured the signing of Hazard from under the noses of the European elite, with the trophy heading to London the first time in 2012, a few weeks before the Belgian superstar completed his switch.
Speaking to the official Chelsea website, Hazard revealed that the ambition in the Blues camp is to go as far as possible in the tournament every season - which is to win it.
The 23-year-old said: "My ambition in the Champions League is pretty much the same as it has been since I’ve been at Chelsea. Personally and collectively it is to go as far as we can, which is to win it.”
The current Blues squad is the strongest it has been since Hazard’s arrival, and many believe that both Premier League and Champions League glory will be heading to West London in the near future - including Hazard, with the forward believing it is very possible to win it this season.
"With the team we have I think that it’s possible,” he added.
"I don’t know if we are the favourite - there is also Real Madrid who are the holders, Bayern Munich are very strong again this year, there are some other great teams – so let’s see how it goes.
"We have to qualify from the group stage first.‘That’s the most important thing right now.
"But of course the dream is to win it. Every year when we play in the Champions League, we play to have the chance to win it. There is a lot of quality in our group and we are all hoping we can go to the end.”
As a youngster it was a dream for Hazard to win the Champions League, and his current spell with Chelsea represents the best chance he has had for the duration of his so-far short career.
"When I was playing for Lille the dream was to go to the first knockout round! But at Chelsea we play to win it and that is a dream of every young player who starts playing football – to hold the trophy. It’s one of the best."
