Adryan creates goal as striker makes it 2 in 3 for Leeds under-21s

Italy V Paraguay World Cup

Brian Montenegro netted as Leeds' under-21 side lost to QPR.

Two summer Leeds signings combined to score in their under-21 loss on Monday.

Leeds were beaten 2-1 by QPR, with first team manager Darko Milanic in attendance.

The Whites' goal was scored by deadline day signing Brian Montenegro, who is on loan from Paraguayan side Nacional.

Montenegro is yet to play for the first team, but the forward now has two in three starts for the the under-21s.

There are a number of strikers ahead of him in the queue at present for the senior team, but with the 21-year-old capable of playing out wide, he could find himself in with a chance, especially after Brentford's Alan McCormack highlighted the club's lack of width in their weekend defeat.

Montenegro's goal was sparked by fellow new boy Adryan, whose decision to take a quick free-kick led to the chance for the striker to pull a goal back.

Adryan is another who is waiting for his first team chance, and with two games upcoming over the next week; Reading on Wednesday and Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, squad rotation could lead to either finally getting their opportunities.

Both players did themselves no harm despite the defeat, and it surely cannot be too long before they are brought into the first team to show what they can do.
