Manchester United defender Luke Shaw says that he is already looking forward to his next game at Old Trafford after making his debut at the weekend.
Shaw made his first appearance for his new club against West Ham United and impressed during the match.
United ran out 2-1 winners against the Hammers, who have started well, with Shaw impressing and he clearly enjoyed the experience.
Shaw joined United from Southampton for a reported £27 million, but he has had to be patient whilst waiting for his debut.
It seems that it has been worth the wait, but questions have been asked already as to why Louis Van Gaal took so long to put his faith in the 19-year-old.
Although an injury halted his progress, Shaw has been available for selection for some time now and it was a surprise that it took so long for the Dutchman to select him for first-team action.
Shaw impressed last season at the Saints and, whilst the rest of United's defence struggled, there was a suggestion that his pace and power could have added something to their back-line.
The England international did exactly that at the weekend, and now that he has claimed his starting berth he will be looking to hold onto it.
If he does, he will have to hold off challenges from the likes of Marcos Rojo, but he is now expected to carry on in Van Gaal's preferred XI.
United's next home match will come in just under a week's time when they take on Everton, and Shaw will be hoping to make his second appearance in what looks a crucial match for the Red Devils as they look to get their season back on track.
