Chelsea morning news: Mourinho's Costa worries, new stadium talks

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho remains concerned over the fitness of key striker Diego Costa.

The Chelsea boss recently revealed that the Spanish international is only fit enough to start one game per week.

“Diego's doing almost nothing. He's just resting and recovering from the tight muscle he has every time he accumulates fatigue,” said Mourinho.

Chelsea have held talks over a possible move to Twickenham as the club looks to expand Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea revealed plans early in 2014 to re-develop their current ground to increase the capacity beyond 41,000.

“We have had an enquiry from Chelsea FC but have not had any discussions of any substance,” said an RFU spokesperson.

The boss has defended the inconsistent start to the season from Eden Hazard.

The Belgian was the club’s standout attacking player last season but has struggled to have a major impact on the side so far this season.

“No dramas and I am not too much worried about it, but this [Villa match] was not his day, was not his performance,” said Mourinho.
