West Brom fans react on Twitter to Lescott performance against Burnley

The former Manchester City man has been hailed as 'the difference' by his new club's supporters.

It is all a matter of perspective with Joleon Lescott.

From Manchester City's perspective, the centre-back wasn't good enough to keep at the Etihad Stadium - however good he may have been at the club in the past.

But, for West Brom, Lescott is already making a huge difference just two games into his career at the Hawthorns.

Indeed, two appearances from the 32-year-old have yielded Premier League two wins and two clean sheets for the Baggies - and it is no coincidence.

As Opta stats show, Lescott was rock solid during Sunday's 4-0 win over Burnley. He didn't win any tackles - but he didn't really need to (only four West Brom players won a single challenge).

When it came to clearances, though, the former England man showed his class, while he also won two interceptions and four aerial duels (joint-highest within Alan Irvine's side).

And Lescott's immediate contribution has not gone unnoticed by Baggies fans. Nor have the efforts of his partner in defence, 24-year-old Craig Dawson.

Some supporters are already calling for an England comeback for Lescott, while many are simply grateful for the defensive expertise he has brought to West Brom. So far, so good for the former Manchester City man - here are the best reactions to his performance on Twitter...
