Potential Spurs line up for Besiktas clash - Fazio and Soldado in

Roberto Soldado

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is likely to rotate his squad once again as the Turkish side visit North London for a second time this season.

This last week's results for Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino will likely see him mix up what had looked like being settled league and cup elevens.

Heading in to Wednesday's League Cup game against Nottingham Forest, the North Londoners had failed to win in four games, and Spurs had some nervy moments in the game against the Championship side before emerging 3-1 winners.

However, Ryan Mason and Jan Vertonghen came into the starting eleven for the impressive draw with Arsenal on the back of that cup win, likely earning starting berths in the next Premier League fixture.

Below we list a possible eleven Pochettino could go with in the home fixture with Turkish giants Besiktas, who were knocked out of Champions League by the Gunners only to face their fierce rivals in the Europa League:

Michel Vorm - The Dutch international has returned to fitness after an extended spell on the sidelines after the World Cup, and is likely to start in the vast majority of cup fixtures.

Eric Dier - So impressive early on in the season, Dier came on and did well against Arsenal after Danny Rose's injury, and could begin against Besiktas following Kyle Naughton's performance on Saturday.

Federico Fazio - The giant Argentine is clearly being gently introduced to the Premier league at Spurs, but one competition he is more than experienced in is the Europa League, having lifted the trophy last season.

Vlad Chiriches - Dropped from the lineup to accommodate Jan Vertonghen after the West Brom loss, the Romanian continues to look a quality player trapped in the body of someone who takes unnecessary chances. Will be interesting to see which one turns up on Thursday.

Ben Davies - Davies is likely to be given another chance to impress in the cup, and with just one short Premier league appearance, will be eager to stand out, especially given Rose's late substitution at the Emirates due to injury.

Benji Stambouli - Tottenham's deadline day signing has shown glimpses of being a decent buy, but will have to do well to oust countryman Etienne Capoue, who was solid once again against the Gunners.

Nabil Bentaleb - Either Bentaleb or Mousa Dembele will start in the Europa League, and with the young Algerian being picked for the bench ahead of a clutch of midfielders in the Arsenal game, it wouldn't surprise anyone if Pochettino again goes with him against Besiktas.

Paulinho - Remains on the periphery at Spurs, and with youngsters like Ryan Mason coming into the side in the league and impressing, there will be a big onus on Paulinho starring whenever he gets a chance to win his spot back.

Andros Townsend - Townsend made the bench on Saturday after enjoying a strong game against Forest, but failed to get on the pitch. Should start against the Turkish side, and as long as he continues to work hard should continue to get chances.

Harry Kane - The Tottenham graduate has already gotten 3 goals so far this season, and may just be preferred to Aaron Lennon after the winger made an appearance in the North London derby. Playing two natural forwards will also bring the best out of Soldado.

Roberto Soldado - The former Valencia striker scored his first goal in English football in several months as he netted in the League Cup, but is boasting 2 goals in 3 games this season despite a niggling neck injury. Worked much better alongside Kane against Forest so Pochettino could very well play both from the off on Thursday.
