Manchester City beat Hull City 4-2 on Saturday, and here is the story of the match in pictures.
Manchester City overcame Hull City 4-2 on Saturday, after the Tigers had threatened to turn the match around despite shipping two early goals.
Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko put the Blues 2-0 ahead with just 11 minutes on the clock, but an own-goal from Eliaquim Mangala and a penalty from summer signing Abel Hernandez saw Hull restore parity before half time.
The scores remained level until the 68th minute, when Dzeko scored his second of the match, before Frank Lampard continued his outstanding form, putting the game to bed with just three minutes of normal time remaining.
Hull boss Steve Bruce will rue a missed opportunity as question marks over his side’s defence remain, but City will simply be glad to leave the KC Stadium with the win after centre-back Mangala had a game to forget, putting through his own net before fouling Hernandez in the box to concede the penalty.
