There was not a great amount for Forest fans to be excited at after their 0-0 draw with Brighton, but Kelvin Wilson's performance was a real standout.
The centre-back was making only his second start of the season in the Championship, and impressed in helping the side keep a clean sheet.
Wilson led the defence in terms of interceptions, with three, and made the joint highest number of tackles, also three.
He completed 97 per cent of his passes, completing 100 per cent of his clearances.
Wilson signed for Forest a year ago from Celtic, his second spell at the club, but saw his season last wrecked by a back injury, before picking up a calf problem in pre-season.
He told the Nottingham Post earlier this month: "I came back to Forest and played the first seven games or so, then I had a really horrible back injury and it really did scare me. I thought it would finish me.
"I had conversations with the physios, asking if it was it for me. More than once I asked them 'am I done?'”
His accomplished performance against Brighton was proof all of his hard rehabilitation work was worth it, and shows the strength of the Forest squad in terms of talent.
If he can stay fit through the season, Wilson will be a tremendous presence in the squad as they push for promotion.
Its great to have Kelvin Wilson back in a red shirt. Hope he gets a run of games he and mancienne are a formidable pairing.#nffc— Matthew Fletcher (@redfletch83) September 28, 2014
The only positives from today, 1 -still unbeaten 2 - Kelvin Wilson was a beast at the back and looks to be back to his best today #nffc— Kieran Blood (@KGTM_) September 27, 2014
It's the first time I've agreed with the matchday sponsors on MOM too. Wilson was superb today #nffc— Jonno Reilly (@Jonno_Reiily) September 27, 2014
Keep Kelvin Wilson fit and we have one top defender. #nffc— Tom Clarke (@TomClarke_3) September 27, 2014
The main positive I took from today is that in Mancienne, Wilson, Lascelles and Hobbs we have 4 absolute first class centre halves #NFFC— Psycho is Back! (@PsychoNFFC) September 27, 2014
