The Tottenham graduate held his own against Arsenal stars Jack Wilshere, Mesut Ozil and co on his first league appearance.
Much has been made of Ryan Mason's impressive North London derby debut, having helped Tottenham to an impressive and hard-earned point at the Emirates.
Registering impressive statistics with the ball in the 1-1 draw, Mason looking more than comfortable in such a fierce game, and afterwards took to Twitter to express his feelings on making such a high profile bow.
Premiership debut in a NLD was a great feeling! Everyone worked hard to get our point, thanks for the messages again #COYS— Ryan Mason (@Ryan_Mason13) September 28, 2014
In contrast to the interest currently circling the native Londoner, little was expected of the attacking midfielder this summer, with the 23-year-old having just returned from the latest in a series of loan spells at Swindon, and Spurs continuing to invest heavily in midfield talent.
However, with many of the club's existing midfielders returning to preseason training late due to their World Cup exertions, Mason was included on the club's tour of North America, and seemed to have impressed Mauricio Pochettino enough for the Argentine to keep the Tottenham graduate in his plans for the season.
Mason took his chance against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup last week, emerging from the bench to smash home a fantastic equaliser, earning him an even bigger opportunity just a few days later; a debut Premier League appearance in the North London derby.
Not bad considering Mason was playing Under-21 football just one week ago.
