Ozil V Eriksen

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur played out a fiercely-contested 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Goals from Nacer Chadli and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ensured the match finished level, but how did the two side’s creative catalysts compare?

In Mesut Ozil and Christian Eriksen, Arsenal and Tottenham have two of the most exciting play-makers in European football, but on Saturday neither player managed to get on the score-sheet themselves.

Ozil did however play two key passes in the match, while both he and Eriksen had a 100 per cent on-target shooting success, the players managing one shot apiece.

However, Arsenal’s club-record signing outshone Eriksen in terms of passing accuracy, forward passes and dribbles.

Ozil had a passing accuracy of 92 per cent, compared to Eriksen’s 86 per cent. The German international also played an impressive 22 forward passes compared to the Danish star’s six; while Ozil went on six dribbles compared with Eriksen’s single attempt.

The Tottenham player left the field shortly after the hour mark while Ozil played the entire match, but purely from a statistical point of view, the Arsenal player shone brighter overall.
