Arsenal boss Wenger singles out two Tottenham stars as problematic for his side

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admitted his side lacked the height to compete with two Tottenham Hotspur stars.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has lamented his side's inability in the air, in terms of making their situational advantages count in the North London derby.

The Gunners won 15 corners, more than in any Premier League game they had played this season, yet struggled in terms of their accuracy.

  MatchCorners TakenAccurate Corners
Arsenal Arsenal vs Tottenham 15 4
Arsenal Leicester vs Arsenal 10 2
Arsenal Arsenal vs C. Palace 9 3
Arsenal Aston Villa vs Arsenal 5 1
Arsenal Everton vs Arsenal 3 1
Arsenal Arsenal vs Man City 0 0

Wenger told that the height and presence of Tottenham's two centre-halves was a factor they simply could not deal with.

"I have a lot of talent at my disposal but Tottenham are a very tall side. Players like Jan Vertongen and Younes Kaboul are very tall and they defended well.

"It’s a concern. We have lots of room for improvement and we need to do that quickly."

Arsenal are currently without their main threat in the air from attack with Olivier Giroud out injured, so the onus rests on the club's centre-backs to make an impact, which they were unable to do at the weekend.
