Real Madrid fans want to see more of season long loanee Javier Hernandez.
According to an online poll conducted by the Spanish publication Marca, the Real Madrid supporters are keen for loanee Javier Hernandez to play a bigger role in the team.
The Mexican international joined Los Merengues on the final day of the summer transfer window on a season-long loan deal after failing to impress new boss Louis Van Gaal.
His signing, however, left a number of observers in the Spanish capital bemused due to a number of mediocre performances for the Red Devils and the Mexican national team over the past 18 months.
Such claims were further highlighted during the United loanee’s nightmare La Liga debut defeat at home to city-rivals Atletico Madrid, a game in which he touched the ball a mere six times in 30 minutes of play.
Since then, Chicharito has gone on to make another three substitute appearances and the team’s results along with his form have improved dramatically.
Following his late brace in the remarkable 8-2 thrashing of Deportivo La Coruna, the former Chivas striker’s clinical finishing has drawn comparisons with Mexican legend Hugo Sanchez and the Santiago Bernabeu faithful want to see more of him.
In a poll conducted by Marca, 78.9% have voted in favour of the striker being given a more predominant role in Carlo Ancelotti’s side, even if it’s detriment to that of French international Karim Benzema.
Whilst it’s difficult to see Chicharito nailing down a first-team spot for Ancelotti’s side on a regular basis, winning the hearts of the demanding Madrid supporters may just be the first steps into convincing president Florentino Perez to make his deal become permanent next summer.
