Nottingham Forest have been the pace setters in the Championship so far this season, and after impressing against Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in the Capital One Cup this week, it was back to league action as Brighton and Hove Albion travelled to the City Ground this afternoon.
Manager Stuart Pearce could only name six substitutes on the bench today as Forest looked to get back to winning ways in the Championship following 1-1 and 0-0 draws with Derby County and Millwall respectively - but Sami Hyypia's Brighton stood in their way, fresh off a 3-0 win over Burton Albion in the Capital One Cup.
Despite Forest going with the so far potent front three of Michail Antonio, Britt Assombalonga and Chris Burke, Forest struggled to make the breakthrough against the Seagulls today. Pearce's men edged possession today, and whilst they had 14 shots on goal, they only had one on target as the game ended in stalemate.
Brighton weren't much better in front of goal though, hitting just two of their 12 shots on target with neither side managing to find their shooting boots.
Forest now lose top spot in the Championship after Norwich's win over Blackpool took the Canaries to the summit of the table, and turn their attention to facing Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium on Tuesday night.
