A round up of news stories this morning about Liverpool.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher says the club have failed to replace Luis Suarez.
Suarez joined Barcelona during the summer transfer window and the ex-defender says the club haven’t brought in the players to replace him.
“This year Rodgers has seen his band's lead singer move on and, so far, it seems as if Suarez has been replaced with backing singers,” said Carragher.
Carragher also says captain Steven Gerrard and experienced Lucas struggle to play together.
The pair have been key to the development of the side under Brendan Rodgers.
“One thing that is certain is Gerrard and Lucas struggle to play together. Lucas should come in for the games when Stevie is rested,” wrote Carragher for the Daily Mail.
Bolton Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman has explained why Liverpool youngster Jordon Ibe didn’t move to the club.
Ibe was thought to be close to a loan switch to Bolton before he eventually joined up with Derby County.
“It’s well documented that we tried to get Jordon in – but those kind of things happen - Money does come in somewhere along the line but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t just money,” said Freedman.
