Xabi Alonso is already looking like the bargain of the summer, showing Real Madrid why they never should have let him go.
They aren't the only ones, for fans of Liverpool would surely swap any of their summer signings to bring back the Spaniard.
Alonso, 32, signed for Bayern Munich in August, and was terrific on Saturday in a 2-0 away win over Cologne.
The midfielder managed a staggering 206 touches of the ball, a Bundesliga record.
The previous best was set by Thiago Alcantara for Pep Guardiola's side last season, with 185.
The closest any other Bayern player got this weekend to their new maestro was David Alaba's 150 touches. Cologne's top player, David Wimmer, only managed 50.
Bayern unsurprisingly dominated possession with a total of 78 per cent, and only wasteful finishing prevented the scoreline from being embarrassing, scoring only two of 21 total attempts.
In total Alonso attempted 196 passes, completed 89 per cent of them, in a performance which shows he has instantly settled into Guardiola's system.
