'Come on you Blues' - Injured Everton star on Twitter ahead of Merseyside Derby

Ross Barkley is right behind his team-mates and favourite team ahead of the game against Liverpool.

Everton take on Liverpool today in the first Merseyside Derby of the 2014-15 campaign, with the bragging rights in Liverpool up for grabs.

And this game has a real importance, as both sides have struggled early doors.

Everton lost their last Premier League game out, 3-2 at home to Crystal Palace while Liverpool were also beaten, West Ham doing the business.

Everton go into the game hoping Seamus Coleman has recovered fully from a head injury suffered against VfL Wolfsburg while they will also hope that Steven Pienaar can join Bryan Oviedo and Darron Gibson in recently giving Roberto Martinez an injury boost.

But one player out of action is Ross Barkley. The Everton starlet, considered one of the best young talents in the country, suffered a serious knee injury in pre-season that looked originally like ruling him out for the rest of the season.

He now looks likely to return in November after a rapid recovery, but that does mean he is unavailable for today's game. But a local lad as Barkley is he has no doubt where his loyalties lie this afternoon.

He will be backing Everton for the win, as you can see from his most recent post on Twitter...

Everton's players will be hoping to leave a smile on the face of Barkley and every other Everton fan this Saturday.
