Arsenal dropped two points against Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Gunners had to come from behind to draw the North London derby 1-1, but given that they were at home means that manager Arsene Wenger will be disappointed with the final result.
The 13-time English champions are now fourth in the league table with 10 points from six matches, six points behind leaders Chelsea.
That gap could increase next Sunday when Arsenal take on the Blues at Stamford Bridge, especially as three of their key players could be out.
Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere all picked up injuries against Tottenham, and Wenger admits that all three could miss the match against Jose Mourinho’s side.
While Arteta came off on 28 minutes, Ramsey was substituted on the stroke of half time and Wilshere was taken off in the 63rd minute.
‘I think Ramsey is a hamstring and Arteta is a calf’, Arsenal’s official website quotes Wenger as saying. ‘Wilshere [has] an ankle [problem]. Wilshere, I don’t know. The two others are out for Chelsea for sure’.
Wenger added that he doesn’t know if Wilshere will be fit for Arsenal’s Champions League Group D clash against Galatasaray at the Emirates on Wednesday.
Arsenal are not short of numbers in the midfield department, but losing Ramsey, Wilshere and Arteta will still come as a huge blow.
While Ramsey is a key player for the Gunners and Arteta is the captain, Wilshere seemed to have stepped up his game in recent matches.
