Luke Shaw featured prominently during training on Friday.
Luke Shaw could be set to make his Manchester United debut on Saturday, with the £30 million summer signing featuring heavily in first-team training on Friday afternoon.
The United squad were put through their paces once more by boss Louis van Gaal and, once again, looked cheery and relaxed in training. Perhaps they are too relaxed, considering their recent on-field woes?
Either way, there were some surprise inclusions on show as Tom Thorpe, Paddy McNair and Andreas Pereira all trained with the senior squad with a view to appearing against West Ham United tomorrow. The same duty will likely fall on Shaw's shoulders, as United simply have too many defenders on the injury list.
Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Tyler Blackett and Jonny Evans are all out with fitness problems, meaning an academy product is guaranteed to play some part at Old Trafford, while 19-year-old Shaw looks set for the left-back berth.
Elsewhere, the usual faces in captain Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Juan Mata and co were joined by the slightly less usual but faces were are getting used to in Radamel Falcao, Marcos Rojo and more. This training session looked relaxed - but a result on Saturday is a serious requirement.
