Manchester United morning news: Ronaldo return latest, plan to sign Miranda

A round up of news stories this morning about Manchester United.

Manchester United’s deal to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo could cost them up to £140 million.

The Portuguese star turns 30 next year and Real Madrid appear to be getting ready to offload him in a big money transfer.

United are thought to be the favourites to get him but the cost of the deal in terms of a fee and wages would be huge.

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata could be the difference in a deal for Atletico Madrid defender Joao Miranda according to ESPN.

Mata is constantly being linked with moves away from the club and he could be used to help United land the defender they were linked with at points in the summer.

United currently only have one fit centre-back heading into this weekend’s game against West Ham.

Manchester United forward Robin Van Persie says the side have looked at their all round game ahead of this weekend.

United were defensively poor against Leicester last weekend, something the Dutchman says the team is looking to put right.

“When you look at the defensive mistakes, it starts somewhere else. That's where we looked at as well. It's not just the one mistake which happens. There's a mistake before the mistake and before the mistake, maybe positional wise,” said RVP.
