All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from Anfield...

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that midfielders Philippe Coutinho and Jordan Henderson are doubtful for the Merseyside derby against Everton on Saturday.

Brazilian star Coutinho, who joined the Reds from Inter Milan in January 2013 for a reported transfer fee of £8.5 million, has a groin problem.

England international Henderson, who moved to Liverpool from Sunderland in the summer of June 2011 for a reported £20m, is suffering from a hip injury.

Rodgers has admitted that the duo are still doubtful for the Premier League clash at Anfield and told the club’s official website: ‘We're hopeful that they can be involved but we'll see how that is and how they respond with the medical team’.

One Liverpool player who is fully fit and looking forward to his first Merseyside derby is Dejan Lovren, who joined the Reds from Southampton in the summer transfer window for a reported £20m.

‘I can't wait’, he told the club’s official website. ‘I know it's a big derby and there will be a lot of passion, especially playing at Anfield. It will be a tough game, for sure - Everton are a good team. But I'm confident.

‘I already know about the derby - the passion, the fans - and I know it's something special. It means a lot to the fans when you win the derby.

‘I know what to expect in the game and the atmosphere. When you play a derby, it is tough every time. But the Premier League is already tough. It will be like every game for me, I'm ready for everything’.

Meanwhile, Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has revealed his determination to win a trophy this season.

‘To get silverware back at Anfield is one of the main objectives this season, as well as doing well in the league’, the winger told the Reds’ official website. ‘Hopefully we can win a trophy this season’.
