Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has said that midfielder Ramires is out of tomorrow's game with Aston Villa with a 'muscular injury'.
The midfielder is also likely to miss the Champions League game in midweek against Sporting Lisbon in Portugal, and the short trip to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal in the Premier League next weekend.
At his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Aston Villa, the Chelsea boss said: "It's a muscular injury. He'll not play Tuesday or against Arsenal. He needs the international two weeks break, he needs that time."
Other than the midfielder, Mourinho says the squad is in good condition, including Diego Costa - but he is unsure whether his star striker will play a part later in the week against Sporting as there are still doubts over whether he can play two games per week, given that he has been struggling with a hamstring injury.
Mourinho added: "He plays tomorrow and he starts the game without problems. The question is always the same. Can he finish the game and be in conditions to play in Lisbon?
"At this moment I don't think about sporting, I think about Aston Villa and he's in condition to start.
"Everybody is working hard and he is the first one to do that. he was working hard in his recovery and his condition.
"He's trying to be ready for every game. Physically he is not, but mentally he is ready for every game."
So far this season, injuries have been relatively kind to Mourinho's side with only the odd player missing on a week-to-week basis.
"Every manager wants no injuries. We do not have a long squad, we only have 21 players."
