Tottenham latest, Pochettino on 'emotional' derby, Kane targeting win

A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Friday evening.

Tottenham Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino is anticipating an 'emotional' game in his first North London derby as Spurs travel to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal tomorrow evening.

Despite it being his first experience of this derby, Pochettino is adamant he knows how much it means to get a good result.

He told SpursTV: “It’s a big game, a big derby. I know what it means for us and for our supporters. I’m excited, because I like this rivalry.

“We need to play our way. It will be an emotional game, for sure, not tactical, not physical."

He told the club website: “It’s a match everyone looks forward to – the fans, the staff, the players – and it’s one you want to bring three points back from.

“We’re focused on the game and we want to get the win so we can build a bit of momentum.”

Winger Andros Townsend is unlikely to be in the starting line-up tomorrow, but he's quoted in the Daily Mail talking about his return to fitness.

He said: "Of course I'm not where I want to be at the moment but I'm getting games under my belt, I'm getting my fitness slowly better and with every game I'm improving so hopefully a few more games in the Europa League and the cup games and I might be ready to challenge for a Premier League spot."

Striker Harry Kane has described the clash with Arsenal tomorrow as the biggest game of the season - and after bouncing back from a disappointing loss against West Bromwich Albion with a win over Nottingham Forest in the League Cup.
