Stuart Pearce believes the midfielder is in the mix for first team places, and is impressed at how far he has come since he arrived.
He told the Nottingham Post that the way the 19-year-old has seized his chances, holding him back is becoming a difficult option.
"The likes of Grant were a million miles away from it (the first team) before I came here.
"But he has been so impressive in pre-season and every time that he has joined the first team squad that he has simply forced my hand."
It would not be a surprise at all to see Grant named on the substitute's bench this weekend, and even get some minutes as Forest host Brighton.
If not, there's a clear reason why. Forest are top of the Championship, and there is very little that requires changing right now, but over the course of the 46 game season in the division, it's certain he will get his chances.
All he has to do, is what he has done so far and did in midweek, and that is make the most of any opportunities he gets.
