Fantasy Football Focus: Gameweek 6 Picks - Chelsea and Manchester United stars feature

Eden Hazard Dribbling

Featuring players from Chelsea, Manchester United, Southampton and West Ham United...

The sixth weekend of Premier League action gets underway on Saturday lunchtime with the Merseyside derby, with the North London derby kicking off just a few hours afterwards.

The two derbies make it difficult to judge fantasy football options from the sides involved with any confidence, as the 'form goes out of the window in a derby' cliché will tell you.

Looking elsewhere, Chelsea entertain an Aston Villa side who conceded three at home to Arsenal in their first loss last time out, while high-flying Southampton host a Queens Park Rangers side who have lost both away games 4-0 so far.

Manchester United welcome West Ham United to Old Trafford in a fixture that looks set to be full of goals, but where should you be looking from a fantasy football perspective this weekend?

DEF - Branislav Ivanovic - Chelsea

Ivanovic will be looking to get on the scoresheet after two games without goals following two in his first three of the season. The Serbian full-back is a constant threat down the right, and he should wrap up a clean sheet at home to Villa this weekend too, making him an attractive option despite the high price.

DEF - Nathaniel Clyne - Southampton

Another right-back to seriously consider if he's not already in your team is Clyne. The Saints right-back scored a stunning long-range effort at the Emirates Stadium in the Capital One Cup in midweek and he will be full of confidence heading into a home fixture against QPR. Southampton have kept a clean sheet in both previous home games this season and will be looking to win their fourth consecutive league game against the R's.

MID - Eden Hazard - Chelsea

Hazard has yet to hit form, as Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa have been stealing the show, but the Belgian winger prefers playing at Stamford Bridge and the chance to take on the Villa defence should see him thrive. He scored in the home game against Leicester City and picked up his first assist of the season at Manchester City last week. Hazard looks to be on the rise and could be in for a big weekend.

MID - Stewart Downing - West Ham

Only Cesc Fabregas has made more key passes in the Premier League than the West Ham winger so far this season, and Downing will look to exploit a vulnerable United defence that conceded five against Leicester last time out. Van Gaal is without four centre-backs this weekend and Downing could score big as he has picked up three assists in his last two games.

FOR - Wayne Rooney - Manchester United

Although United are likely to be in trouble at the back, Rooney will hope to inspire the devastating attack to outscore the Hammers if United are to win this game. The Englishman will likely play in behind Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie, but he will be the man to make everything tick and he will hope to build on his goal and two assists in his last two games.
