The Newcastle striker was linked with a move away from St James’ Park over the summer, but has dismissed such talk ahead of Monday’s game against Stoke.
Sidelined since April with a broken kneecap, the Senegal international was previously linked with a mid-season moved to Fenerbahce and the Turkish side were thought to be one of several clubs considering a move for the striker, with Qatari side Al Gharafa also rumoured to be keen.
However the 29-year-old has now moved to reject any reports of personal unrest at the club, as he prepares to make his long-awaited return to regular first team action.
“At this moment, I have just had to focus only on my injury ...I never thought ‘I need to move’ or something. No, no,” he told reporters.
“It’s just people speaking about it outside. I just had to keep going and training hard. I am a Newcastle player.”
Cisse came on to score twice for Newcastle last time out in a 2-2 draw with Hull.
Signed from Bundesliga outfit Freiburg for £9 million, Cisse scored 13 goals in his first 14 Premier League appearances but has struggled for goals since that debut campaign, with just 12 in 61 top-flight games over the past three seasons.
Back in training and aiming to play some part in Newcastle’s trip to Stoke on Monday, the striker will be hoping he can be the man to fire the Magpies back up the table.
