The North London derby takes centre-stage in the Premier League on Saturday as Arsenal host their arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium.
It is one of the most anticipated football games in English football calendar, and former players have been giving their opinion.
Arsenal legend Alan Smith picked his best ever North London XI for The Telegraph, and this is how his team looks like:
David Seaman, Lee Dixon, Dave Mackay, Tony Adams, Nigel Winterburn, Patrick Vieira, Paul Gascoigne, Glenn Hoddle, Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Jimmy Greaves
Tottenham fans may feel aggrieved by the omission of Pat Jennings, who played for Arsenal as well and is considered a footballing legend.
The omission of former Spurs star Gareth Bale and ex-Arsenal left-back Ashley Cole will also be noted by some football followers.
Smith, though, has some big words for Arsenal icon Thierry Henry, who is one of the greatest players of all time.
‘Never mind just forwards, the best player I have seen perform in this country’, Smith wrote of Henry. ‘Untouchable at his peak, the Frenchman made defenders look silly with blistering pace and a killer instinct’.
Not many will disagree with Smith’s decision to include Henry in his North London XI. Or will they...?
