West Bromwich Albion’s club-record signing Brown Ideye has given an injury update following Wednesday evening’s Capital One Cup clash against Hull City.
The £10million summer signing scored his first goal of the season, opening the scoring before late goals from Gareth McAuley and Saido Berahino secured the win; but he was replaced after just 21 minutes with an ankle injury.
However, Ideye took to his official Twitter account today to appease fears he could be out of action just when he had started scoring.
“Thanks everyone for the love,” he wrote, “my injury is not that serious, hopefully I will be fine before the next game; thanks once again.”
That is great news for West Brom, who have recorded back-to-back victories and will be hoping to maintain that fine form when they host Burnley on Saturday.
With Ideye in the team, that challenge will become a little easier.
