VINE: Arsenal target celebrates new deal with first league goal

Olympique Lyonnais

Clinton N'Jie has scored his first goal in Ligue 1 for Olympique Lyonnais.

Arsenal have been linked with yet another young French based striker this week. In the past the club have gambled on the likes of Nicolas Anelka, Thierry Henry, Kaba Diawara and are now doing similar with Yaya Sanogo.

This time it is Cameroonian Clinton N'Jie. The 21-year-old striker has impressed in international duty this month, scoring three goals in two games for the Indomitable Lions including an impressive brace against the Ivory Coast.

His reported £800,000 release clause in his contract at Olympique Lyonnais also added to the temptation for Arsenal.

But that temptation was removed yesterday, as Lyon tied down the player to a new deal keeping him at the Stade Gerland until 2019.

And he celebrated in the best way possible, by scoring his first goal in Ligue 1 for the club. He added to a strike he managed against Czech side Mlada Boleslav in August in the Europa League.

He scored the third goal in a 4-0 victory against Lorient yesterday evening. N'Jie steamed through on goal before rounding the goalkeeper and killing the game off.

N'Jie is certainly looking like a talented forward and has finally got off the mark in the league. Arsenal will watch on with envy if he goes on to bang in the goals this campaign.
