VIDEO: Former Everton loanee scores first goal for new club to go second in La Liga

Gerard Deulofeu was on target on his first La Liga start for Sevilla last night.

Last season saw Everton enjoy the presence of young Barcelona prospect Gerard Deulofeu. The talented winger was a revelation at Goodison Park, shining in several impressive performances under Roberto Martinez.

However Barcelona were not said to be happy with the progression Deulofeu made at Everton so when the club decided to loan him out again this summer, despite Deulofeu believing the club would be part of Luis Enrique's plans in 2014-15.

Instead he was loaned out to La Liga side Sevilla along with former Manchester City prospect Denis Suarez.

However Barcelona have again been upset with his loan spell. They are believed to be upset with the lack of football Deulofeu has been getting - which was until last night just 117 minutes.

But he got 63 minutes of action against Real Sociedad last night, his first La Liga star. And he didn't stop there, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win against Sociedad.

He netted in the 18th minute which ended up being the only goal and it sent Sevilla to second placed in La Liga, behind his parent club Barcelona on goal difference only.
