We round up the morning news from Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested in signing Marseille midfielder Giannelli Imbula, according to reports in Italy.
Spurs' squad already appears full of defensive midfielders, but reports have surfaced that Imbula could also be on their list of targets.
Mauricio Pochettino has hailed the impact of Ryan Mason after the youngster came on to provide the Lilywhites with the victory in the League Cup last night.
Mason was thrown on with Spurs on the verge of exiting to competition to Championship side Nottingham Forest, but he scored the goal to draw them level and set them on their way to a 3-1 success.
It was a performance which had his manager purring and Pochettino has praised the club's academy for the talent it is producing.
"Our Academy is very good and I congratulate everyone in the Academy because he’s [Mason is] another talent," the Argentine manager said to the club's official site.
Andros Townsend says that Pochettino has a selection headache ahead of Spurs' North-London derby with Arsenal at the weekend.
Townsend believes that Spurs' victory over Forest last night will have proven that some of his fringe players can make the step-up and it could meant they start again at the weekend.
“The manager made a lot of changes today, but the lads that played showed they are good enough to be selected on Saturday," he said to Sky Sports.
“So the manager has got a selection dilemma.”
