Chelsea overcame a resilient Bolton Wanderers side 2-1 at Stamford Bridge in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday evening.
Defender Kurt Zouma scored his first goal for the club in the 25th minute, but Matt Mills had equalised within seven minutes, to ensure the two sides went in level at half time.
However Oscar netted what turned out to be the winner 10 minutes after the interval, to ensure Chelsea’s dominance in terms of goal attempts was ultimately rewarded.
The Blues had 28 goal attempts, with 10 of those on target, while Bolton managed just three attempts and just two on target.
However for a time it looked as though the Championship side would take their top flight opponents to extra-time, only for the Brazilian to break their hearts with a low drive.
Chelsea will now face Shrewsbury Town in the fourth round, while Bolton will focus on their Championship campaign.
